How to Stop Spam Calendar on your iPhone or iPad - We are all very aware of the spam email. It's something we've lived with just as long as we have been using email and frankly, it was not as bad as it used to be because the email service such as Gmail even better filtering these messages even before they appear in your inbox.
More recently a new type of spamming has emerged, and it relies on the calendar of iPhone, iPad, or Mac and iCloud. This technique is actually quite low-tech, but brilliant. Chinese spammers sent iCloud calendar invites to your email address they might scrape from several websites, knowing that it is likely to trigger a notification on the iPhone and iPad.
If you receive an invitation, your calendar is filled with events to promote various products, usually fake Ray Ban or Oakley sunglasses. If you decline an invitation, well, you just warn the spammer that you do not see the invite and confirm the email address he sent the first invite active, prompting him to send more and more inviting.
It seems no matter what you do, you lost. Fortunately, there are several things you can do to disable calendar invite spam on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and delete events you may have received.
The first solution is to disable them notices you may have received on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac. To do this, you need to change a simple setting, but oddly enough, you can not do this directly from your Mac or iOS device. Instead, you should do so from iCloud.com.
Step 1: In your browser of choice, navigate to iCloud.com and log in using your Apple ID.
Stpe 2: Then, Choose and Click on the Calendar app.
Step 3: Once you are in the Calendar web application, click on the Settings icon (the one that looks like a gear) in the left corner of your screen and select Preferences ...
Step 4: Once in Preferences, click on the Advanced tab.
5) At the invitation at the bottom, select to email requests to your registered email rather than using in-app notification, as seen in the picture above.
This will not stop the spamming that occurred, but at least you will not receive the invitation through your Calendar app. Instead, they will be sent to your email inbox where you can easily remove them without actually telling spammers of whether you accept or decline the invitation.
This method works, but obviously, it was a real pain, especially if you rely on in-app notifications for your calendar.
